2017 NITAAC Performance Excellence Awards: Innovation Winner
The 2017 NITAAC Performance Excellence Awards for innovation recognize a federal government program for the achievement of the significant mission and business results through the implementation of innovative solutions or successful implementation of new and emerging IT products and services procured through the NITAAC program.
The 2017 award winner for innovation is VSE Corporation and its Joint Medical Asset Repository (JMAR) system team for the core development and sustainment of a web-based production application under the CIO-SP3 GWAC.
JMAR is a web-based production application with a joint customer base that includes military logisticians, military planners and healthcare providers. The application increases military readiness by providing access to the location, quantity and current demand, supply and usage of medical material and medical equipment assets. JMAR is a Defense Health Agency (DHA) Solution Delivery Division product.
“VSE really focuses its mission on the warfighter and this particular contract demonstrates that between the agency, the contractor and NITAAC, we can really meet the mission for the warfighter,” Jennifer Terry, Chief Operating Officer (COO) said. “To partner with NITAAC, it really demonstrates how great this vehicle can be for pushing a lot of great work quickly through the contract.”
The 2017 NITAAC Performance Excellence Awards recognize performance excellence and commitment to quality in the acquisition and delivery of services and solutions through NITAAC’s three GWACs: CIO-SP3, CIO-SP3 Small Business and CIO-CS. The guiding principles for the award categories are aligned with the achievement of the NITAAC mission, vision, goals and objectives, as communicated in the GWAC contracts and on the NITAAC website, and in the designation letters from OMB.
The awards are sponsored by the NITAAC Community Action Groups (CAGs). Award nominations are solicited from those affiliated with the NITAAC program and are reviewed and selected by a committee from the Coalition for Government Procurement.
